When people think of the South Pacific, I imagine they think of palm tree fringed islands, pina coladas, white sand beaches and that magical, iridescent clear water we’re famous for. The Pacific has ruined me for other beach holidays.

If you can’t see the bottom – I’m not going in is basically my philosophy. Lucky then I call the Pacific home and have swum in some of the bluest lagoons in the world. My favourite locations are Solomon Islands’ Western Province, Fiji’s Yasawa islands, Savai’i in Samoa and Vanuatu’s Riri Riri Blue Hole in Espiritu Santo. We’ve asked others what their favourite waterside spots are and also have a beautiful photo essay from Damea Dorsey in Solomon Islands, hilarious Vanuatu driving tips from Rosie Jacobs and a look a Samoa’s best surf spots.
